Magma Design Automation, Inc (Nasdaq: LAVA) is an electronic design automation (EDA) software company, founded in 1997, located in Santa Clara, California. Fourth largest company in Electronic Design Automation industry.

Their software enables chip designers to reduce the time it takes to design and produce complex integrated circuits. Their products are used in all major phases of the integrated circuit development cycle.

Main products of the company provide a design flow within a single system for synthesis of the physical layout of integrated circuits from their register transfer level (RTL) descriptions.

As of 2005, Magma's major competitors are Cadence Design Systems, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics.
