Byzantine Rite

The Byzantinian Rite, sometimes called Constantinian Rite, is the major group of liturgical traditions belonging to the Eastern Rites within the Catholic church, i.e. differing from the Latin or Roman Rite of the Western Catholic tradition, and rather corresponding to the Orthodox rites, while being Uniates, i.e. recognizing the hierarchical authority of the Pope of Rome.
