- In Greek mythology, Pollux or Polydeuces was one of the twin sons of Zeus, see Castor and Pollux
- Pollux is a bright star in the constellation Gemini.
- Julius Pollux, (Ioulios Poludeukes) a Greek rhetorician of the latter half of the second century ad; a native of Naucratis, Egypt. He taught at Athens, and compiled a Greek Lexicon.

- In the Babylon 5 science fiction television series, the EAS Pollux was an Earth Alliance Omega class destroyer.
- A crater on the Saturnian moon Epimetheus.
- In the anime series "Words Worth", Pollux is the name of a famous Light tribe swordsman who mysteriously disappeared and is survived by his son, Astral.
