Courtelary is a commune of the Bernese Jura, in the canton of Bern. It is located in an area called Bernese Jura (Jura Bernois in French), which sits between the Canton of Jura and the German-speaking part of the Canton of Bern. The people of Courtelary speak French, although the canton of Bern is mostly German-speaking. The town is the capital of the district of Courtelary.
The river Suze runs through Courtelary. The town is also well-known for the Camille Bloch chocolate factory. It is the place of birth of Swiss composer Paul Miche.
