Caersws is a village sitting on the River Severn in mid Wales, at Template:Gbmapping. It has a railway station on the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury.

Caersws has a reasonably successful League of Wales football side, Caersws F.C..

The name Caersws means 'fort of Sws', from the Welsh 'Caer' meaning fort.

It is also the believed site of Roman Fort Mediomanum, "The Central Fist". This may be the fort referred to in the name of the village.
