Founded in 1980, the New Zealand Native Forests Restoration Trust is an organisation involved in forest restoration.
Since then, the Trust has acquired land at the rate of 2.5 km² per year to protect important species, restore their habitats and to improve the quality of waterways. It now has 25 reserves throughout the North Island with a total of nearly 60 km² of protected native forests.
Sir Edmund Hillary is the patron of the trust.
