There are three volcanoes with the name Snæfell in Iceland:
- The famous mountain Snæfellsjökull with its big glacier on top lies in the west of the island (1446 m).
- The higher one of the other two volcanoes by the name Snæfell (1833 m) is situated in the north-east of Vatnajökull. It is a rather big central volcano dominating its surrounding area by about 1000 m. Not far from there, the much discussed power station Kárahnjúkar is being constructed in the Highlands of Iceland.
- A rather unknown mountain of a height of 1383 m to be found to the south-east of the Vatnajökull near the famous glacier lake Jökulsárlón.
There is also a mountain called Snaefell on the Isle of Man.
