Cow sharks (Hexanchidae) are a family of sharks characterized by extra pairs of gill slits.
There are four extant species of cow shark:
- Heptranchias perlo (Sharpnose sevengill shark)
- Hexanchus griseus (Bluntnose sixgill shark)
- Hexanchus vitulus (Bigeye sixgill shark)
- Notorynchus cepedianus (Broadnose sevengill shark)
