GNU/kFreeBSD is an Unix-like operating system that uses the kernel of FreeBSD in conjunction with GNU userland software. Although GNU/kFreeBSD uses the kernel of FreeBSD (hence the k) it is different from FreeBSD, which is a complete operating system on its own. Currently, the following distributions of GNU/kFreeBSD are available: Debian GNU/kFreeBSD.
