Palaemon may refer to

• the birth name given to the Greek hero Herakles and the name he used until the Pythoness at Delphi first addressed him as Herakles when he sought a cure for his madness. (Robert Graves, Greek Myths 122.d.)

• The Greek hero Melicertes, the son of the Boeotian prince Athamas and Ino, daughter of Cadmus was later called Palaemon.
