Image:Richard Fortus.jpg Richard Fortus is a professional guitarist who has shown his capabilities as a member of the re-formed Psychedelic Furs, which carried on from his project work in Love Spit Love.

Through 'Psychedelic Furs' Fortus originally formed a partnership with Richard Butler. This partnership continued to work well with his involvement in the Love Spit Love, but as of recent Fortus's side projects have included pop acts Britney Spears and *NSYNC.

Richard Fortus is now a member of Guns N' Roses, replacing Axl Rose's childhood friend Paul Tobias (Co-writing credits for Back Off Bitch w. Rose). In Guns N' Roses, Richard plays both rhythm and lead guitar. Axl is very pleased with Richard's work and has said, "He's an amazing lead player and very technically skilled. He really likes the pocket that Brian sets and the two of them click with Tommy so we finally have the real deal rhythm section, as Richard is a proven professional. Basically, Richard's the guy that we always were looking for."

According to rumors, Tommy Stinson is the one who recommended Fortus.

On November 5, Richard's wife, Jen Fortus, gave birth to a baby daughter. Her name is Paisley Piper Fortus.
