Hyperpolarization (physics)

Hyperpolarization is the nuclear spin polarization of a material far beyond thermal equilibrium conditions. It is commonly applied to gases such as 129</sub>Xe, 3He which are then used, for instance, in hyperpolarized magnetic resonance imaging.
