U.S. Highway 264 is a spur of U.S. Highway 64. It currently runs for 199 miles (320 km) from Manns Harbor, North Carolina at U.S. Highway 64 to Raleigh, North Carolina. It is entirely within the state of North Carolina. It passes through the cities of Washington, Greenville, Wilson, and Raleigh.
In July 2005, the 4-lane freeway dubbed the Knightdale Bypass was opened to traffic. The newly constructed freeway travels from Raleigh's Inner Beltline, Interstate 440, to the already constructed US 64/264 freeway east of Knightdale, North Carolina. U.S. Highway 264 was rerouted along with U.S. Highway 64 to the Knightdale Bypass. The old route is designated as Business 64.
