Energy blast

An energy blast is a recurring choice of attack in many themes of anime. Most notablly sci-fi and action. It commonly involves a set of words or phrases which when spoken initiates the blast. In some cases especially in martial arts anime it is known as a "ki" blast.

Many superhero characters also use a form of energy projection, usually activated without having to verbalize.
