In Greek mythology, Idmon was a seer who knew he would die if he joined the Argonauts. He is a son of Apollo and Asteria (or Kilena). He did so anyway and died in Bithnyia.
When in 559 BC the citizens of Megara founded city Heraclea (cur. Eregli) they built a temple over the spot he was buried.
