Lambda programming is used loosely as a synonym for functional programming, while at the same time alluding to lambda calculus, a calculus which is a functional language when it is applied. Apart from this, there is also an obscure programming language called Lambda.
To avoid this confusion it is probably better to specifically refer to either the calculus or the programming paradigm.
