Aastad Township is a township located in Otter Tail County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 187.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 91.9 km² (35.5 mi²). 89.5 km² (34.5 mi²) of it is land and 2.5 km² (0.9 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.68% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there were 187 people, 68 households, and 55 families residing in the township. The population density was 2.1/km² (5.4/mi²). There were 76 housing units at an average density of 0.8/km² (2.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.93% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 1.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 68 households out of which 35.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.0% were married couples living together, 2.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.1% were non-families. 16.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.13.
