Access method

Access method has several meanings.
- In networking, it is the way that network devices access the network medium at the physical layer.
- Also in networking, the access method is software in an SNA processor that controls the flow of data through a network.
- In databases, the access method is the set of algorithms used to retrieve, update, insert and delete records on a storage medium.
