Adrian is a city located in Oldham County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 159.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.3 km² (0.9 mi²). 2.3 km² (0.9 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 159 people, 72 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 69.8/km² (179.9/mi²). There were 82 housing units at an average density of 36.0/km² (92.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 82.39% White, 0.00% African American, 1.26% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 16.35% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 21.38% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 72 households out of which 23.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% were married couples living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% were non-families. 31.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.21 and the average family size was 2.79.

In the city the population was spread out with 21.4% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 22.0% from 25 to 44, 30.2% from 45 to 64, and 20.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 91.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.6 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $27,083, and the median income for a family was $33,750. Males had a median income of $33,333 versus $21,875 for females. The per capita income for the city was $17,966. 24.1% of the population and 13.6% of families were below the poverty line. 33.3% of those under the age of 18 and 21.7% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.

Adrian, Texas bills itself as the midway point between Chicago and Los Angeles on historic US Route 66.

Adrian is zoned to schools in the Adrian Independent School District.
