Ahmet Vefik Pa?a

Ahmet Vefik Paşa (Istanbul, 1823-1891) is a well known Turkish author and translator of the Tanzimat period. After his education in Istanbul and Paris, he was commissioned with top-rank governmental duties, including presiding over the first Ottoman parliament. Vefik also initiated the first Western style theatre plays in Bursa and translated Molière's major works.
