Airbag/How Am I Driving?

From Free net encyclopedia

Template:Album infobox Airbag/How Am I Driving? is an EP by Radiohead, released in 1998 specifically to the North American market. Among other songs, it includes "Meeting in the Aisle", which is both Radiohead's first wholly instrumental and first wholly electronic song. It bridges the gap between the progressive-alternative OK Computer and their later experimental electronic work on Kid A, Amnesiac and to some extent, Hail to the Thief.

The number 1426148550 (dialed from the States as 011-44-1-426-148-550) is given on the EP cover (and by Radiohead singer Thom Yorke, who jokes in concert that it is the number to call to report bad drivers). It was indeed a working number, and the voice on the other end, which simply said, "Hello?," was Yorke's. Fans could even leave a message, and some of the content was used in later productions.

As of 15th December 2005, this number has been disconnected. Calling it yields BT's standard "The number you have dialled has not been recognised" message.
