Alfama

Image:Alfama.jpg Template:Commons Alfama is the oldest district of Lisbon close to the Tejo, known for its Fado bars and restaurants. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma.

Alfama is overlooked by the castle São Jorge and was left intact by the Lisbon earthquake of 1755.
