Apocalyptica
From Free net encyclopedia
Image:Apocalyptica1.jpg Apocalyptica is a Finnish music band consisting of three (formerly four) classically-trained cellists. All former students of the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland, their speciality is heavy metal music on cellos, though they also play classical music.
They started by playing covers of Metallica, but once the concept became popular they wrote their own original works, maintaining the heavy metal influences on their albums Inquisition Symphony and Cult. With Reflections they somewhat deviate from their previous cello rock.
They have sold in total almost two million albums worldwide, have played in more than 20 countries, have guest performed with Metallica twice, and have toured with Rammstein.
