Bascom is located 5 miles south of the Alabama border.
Bascom is the hometown of actress Faye Dunaway.

Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 106 people, 41 households, and 33 families residing in the town. The population density was 170.5/km² (448.3/mi²). There were 49 housing units at an average density of 78.8/km² (207.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 41 households out of which 26.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.9% were married couples living together, 12.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.5% were non-families. 19.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 2.97.
