Bernoulli

The Bernoullis are a family of traders and scholars from Basel, Switzerland. The founder of the family, Leon Bernoulli, immigrated to Basel from Antwerp, Belgium in the 16th century.
Many notable artists and scientists have been Bernoullis, in particular a number of famous mathematicians in the 18th century:
- Daniel Bernoulli (1700–1782)
- Nicolaus II Bernoulli (1695–1726), his elder brother
- Johann Bernoulli (1667–1748), father of Daniel and Nicolaus II
- Jakob Bernoulli (also James or Jacques) (1654–1705), brother of Johann
- Nicolaus I Bernoulli (1687–1759), nephew of Jakob and Johann.
Bernard Bernoulli is also a fictional character in the video games Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle.
