Image:Big Foot.jpg Image:Big Foot, dead at Wounded Knee (1890).gif Big Foot (1824? - December 29, 1890), also known as Spotted Elk and Si Tanka, was the name of a chief of the Minneconjou, a sub-group of the Teton Sioux. He was son of Lone Horn, and became a chief upon the death of his father. He was a highly renowned chief, with skills in war and negotiations.
While attempting to lead his followers to join other Sioux at the Pine Ridge Reservation, he was killed, along with many of his followers, at the Wounded Knee Massacre.
