Image:Ltspkr.pngBreukelen is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. It is situated in the heavily touristed Vecht area. During the 17th century a number of Amsterdam merchant families built their vast residences near Breukelen.
The Amsterdam-Rhine Canal passes Breukelen.
Breukelen has a railway station.
There is a large Van der Valk hotel, externally in Chinese style.
Universiteit Nyenrode is located in Breukelen.
The name of Brooklyn, New York, USA, originates from Breukelen (see also the "History" section of the Brooklyn article).
