Summary of Orders

The following is a list of the above Orders, except the Canadian provincial Orders. The Orders are sorted by their first appearance when descending the order of precedence.

Note: In the UK order of precedence, after the Order of Merit come the Baronet's badge, the Order of the Indian Empire then the Order of St Michael and St George. The Order of New Zealand ranks between the Order of Merit and the Baronet's badge, and the New Zealand Order of Merit ranks between the Baronet's badge and the Order of St Michael and St George ([1]). The Order of Australia is defined to be between the Order of Merit and the Order of St Michael and St George ([2] PDF). Whether or not the Order of Australia ranks above or below the Baronet's badge, or whether or not the NZ Order of Merit ranks above or below the Order of the Indian Empire, is unclear.
