Buhl is a city located in St. Louis County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 983.

Image:MNMap-doton-Buhl.png According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.1 km² (3.5 mi²). 8.5 km² (3.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 6.80% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there were 983 people, 405 households, and 240 families residing in the city. The population density was 115.4/km² (299.0/mi²). There were 432 housing units at an average density of 50.7/km² (131.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 94.91% White, 0.71% African American, 2.75% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.31% from other races, and 1.12% from two or more races. 0.51% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 405 households out of which 25.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.7% were married couples living together, 8.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.5% were non-families. 35.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.21 and the average family size was 2.87.
In the city the population was spread out with 25.9% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 24.1% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 19.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 118.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.1 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $31,574, and the median income for a family was $34,464. Males had a median income of $35,938 versus $21,538 for females.
