Buzz 97.1

Buzz 97.1 is an Independent Local Radio station broadcasting to the Wirral Peninsula from Birkenhead. It is owned by GCap Media, and broadcasts a mix of popular music and presenter chat. Prior to 1999, it was known as MFM 97.1. As with other stations using the former GWR Group's The Mix brand, Buzz also broadcasts some networked shows. Its transmitter is on top of Storeton Heath near Birkenhead and although it offically broadcasts to Wirral, it can be heard as far as Runcorn.
In November 2005 it was announced that GCap's former Marcher Group radio stations, including Buzz, are to be sold. This is due to the fact that they are outside of the company's primary target area [1].Template:UK-radio-station-stub
