Volumetric footnote

Template:Note The 'cc' is metric in that it uses the metric system's centimeter for each side of a volumemetric cube exactly 1 cm H  X  1 cm W  X  1 cm L. The International metric system standards SI, however equated the definition as that for the milliliter– the official new basis of volume, supplanting the need for the 'cc' abbreviation, and in addition, they discouraged its further use. Its use is still common, if not official, as 1 mL is obviously derivative.
