The term Capitulum can refer to two things:
- In botany, plants may have a flower head that is a dense, with indeterminate inflorescence of sessile or subsessile flowers crowded on a compound receptacle; sometimes called a capitulum.
- In entomology, some species of stick insects, like the genus Bacteria have a structure similar to an elaiosome on their eggs, which encourages ants to pick them up and carry them away. The ants burry the eggs, where they are less likely to be parasitized by wasps.
