Chef!
From Free net encyclopedia
Chef! is a British situation comedy starring Lenny Henry that aired as 20 episodes over three series from 1993 to 1996 on the BBC.
Henry starred as Gareth Blackstock, the arrogant, tyrannical and driven chef, and later owner, of a gourmet restaurant called Le Chateau Anglais in the English countryside. Gareth usually treated people, except his wife Janice, but including customers and investors, with contempt and humorously went into sarcastic tirades when someone especially attracted his ire. One of his favourite targets was his inexperienced Commis Chef, Everton.
The restaurant was modelled on, and many scenes were filmed at, Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons, a restaurant in Oxfordshire owned by chef Raymond Blanc.
