Chemlab is a coldwave and industrial rock (or "machine rock") band formed in Washington D.C. around 1989 to 1990 by Dylan Thomas More, Joe Frank (not to be confused with the radio personality), and Jared Hendrickson. Influenced by the pioneers of the industrial genre, such as Throbbing Gristle, Chemlab brought a rough, experimental approach to their music. Dubbing their drug-influenced sounds Angel-Dustrial, they built up a fanbase by touring with artists such as White Zombie, KMFDM, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, and Skinny Puppy.

Chemlab broke up in 1997, and reformed in 2004 to release an album entitled Oxidizer with Jared as the only original member. Recently, after a massive seven year silence from the stage, Jared and a backing band comprised of the members of electro industrial group mindFIELD performed a well-executed, well-received, one-off show in Boston, Massachusetts (technically Cambridge). Due to substantial success of the show in Boston, the band has returned to New York City with another one-off show that took place on the 7th of January, 2006. A third show occured in San Francisco on March 17th, 2006, joined by fellow classic coldwave bands Babyland and Deathline International. Following this, the band (which may or may not feature a return of members from the original lineup) is planning more recordings as well as a return to full-on touring.
