Chlorella pyrenoidosa

Chlorella pyrenoidosa is a species of fresh water green algae. It is used medicinally as a chelatory agent, for example to extract mercury from the body, or to extract gold from depleted mines.
Possible medicinal uses include:
- fibromyalgia
- hypertension
- ulcerative colitis
It was first discovered in the Pyrenees (hence its name), but occurs world wide. It is used as a potent drug in Chinese medicine.
