To be a "chop". First used in February 2006 by the famous A.Clemmetsen, the word Chop was introduced on the approach road to stanstead airport. Its use is similar to that of the words "muppet", "berk", "plonker" and "weapon", indicating a simple social faux pais or odd behaviour. One can be born a natural Chop, act like a chop or become a chop over time. Young chops are referred to as "choppini's" and a female Chop referred to as a "choppette" or "Choppess". To (verb chop) by striking.
A cut of meat, (specifically pork, lamb or mutton) that contains a bone, usually a rib. Chops are normally cooked by grilling, although barbecuing and baking are also common.

A form of fiberglass consisting of short 6-8 inch lengths of glass that is shot out of a pneumatic gun with resin in to a mold. This method is used often when one side of the finished product is not seen, or when large quantities of a product must be made cheaply and quickly without regards to strength. Corvette fenders and boat dinghies are commonly manufactured this way.

In poker, the term chop has several different meanings:
- To chop the pot means to split the pot, esp. in high-low games. Also known as chop-chop.
- To chop a chip means to break it into smaller denominations. Also known as chop-chop.
- In certain games, chopping the blinds occurs when all players fold to the blinds, who then remove their bets.

The plural form chops may refer to:

A person's lips, e.g. "Get your chops round this burger" or a person's physical ablity to play a wind instrument.
- The latter is presumably derived from the fact that a person's endurance on a wind instrument is often referred to as his "lip" (as in the expressions "losing my lip" and "strong/weak lip").
- Musicians also use chops as a synonym for embouchure.
- By extension chops is also used to describe skill at playing any musical instrument, or style of music (as in "guitar chops" or "jazz chops").

In the Perl programming language, chop is a builtin command to remove a single trailing character from a string.

The acronym CHOP can refer to:

CHOP - a chemotherapy treatment for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It is named after the initials of the principal drugs used.
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
CHOPS - Asian-American hip-hop producer and rapper

The term "Choppin blades" refers to the large diameter rims usually on an old school car in the "hood." It is called choppin because the rims are usually five or six spokes and resemble chrome knives or "blades" when cruisin slowly down the block. And of course, the rims must be 20 inches or bigger.
