Childhood

He attended the then Arnold House School (nowadays just Arnold School), a private school in his home town of Blackpool. There, Lowe played trombone in a seven piece dance band called One Under The Eight, who played old-time popular favourites like "Hello Dolly", "La Bamba", and "Moon River". Chris Lowe's grandfather had been a successful trombonist and was a member of comedy jazz troupe The Nitwits. Lowe early became a skilled pianist and debuted as keyboard player in the progressive rock band Stallion.

Later life

Lowe studied architecture at University of Liverpool from 1978, and during a work placement in 1981 at London architectural practice, he designed a staircase for an industrial estate in Milton Keynes. It was during this work placement that he met Neil Tennant in an electrical retailer on the King's Road in London.

In 1995 he had a cameo in the Australian soap opera Neighbours.

Personal life

Lowe is notoriously shy in public. Despite being an A-listed celebrity in home country UK he keeps an extremely low profile.
