Christopher Rice (born March 11, 1978 in Berkeley, California) is an American author. He is openly gay, and is the son of author Anne Rice and the late poet Stan Rice. His aunt, Alice Borchardt, is also a noted writer. Rice had to overcome criticism that his famous mother's name, rather than his talent, won him publication.
As of 2005 he has published three books, "A Density Of Souls", "The Snow Garden", and "Light Before Day". Like his mother, he has an interest in arts, culture, and the paranormal. He recently moved out of his mother's home in New Orleans, Louisiana.
"Light Before Day" is his third novel, and was released in March of 2005.
He is friends with fellow horror author Clive Barker and occasionally writes a column in The Advocate.
Rice now lives in West Hollywood, California with gay photographer Brian Orter.
