Chrysler Australian engine

From Free net encyclopedia

Chrysler Corporation's Australian arm needed a six-cylinder engine for use in the Australian version of the Chrysler Valiant. Chrysler had been working on a straight-6 to replace the Slant 6 but abandoned the work. It was continued in Australia, and the 245 I6 was born. It had hemispherical combustion chambers and was referred to as the Hemi in Australia.
