Color rendering capacity concerns one important aspect of color rendering, that is, the EFFECTIVENESS of color rendering.

Specificlly, a light's Color Rendering Capacity indicates the upper limit for the number of the colors which can be vividly rendered by the light of given spectral composition.

(If you are interested in another aspect of color rendering, the ACCURACY of color rendering, then you should turn to the CIE color rendering index.)
