The Coryphaenidae, also called the dolphinfishes, are a family of marine ray-finned fish belonging to order Perciformes. The family contains only one genus, Coryphaena, which contains two species: the Mahi-mahi (Common dolphinfish or Dorado) and the Pompano dolphinfish. Both species have compressed heads and single dorsal fins that run the entire lenghth of the fish's bodies. Dolphinfishes are unrelated to dolphins, which are mammals.
