Cultural Leftism

Template:Cleanup-date Template:Wikify-date Cultural Leftism (a term whose very value is disputed) is an intellectual and cultural leftist tendency that originated in Europe in the inter-war period under the Great Depression (1920's and 30's.)
It is considered as a renewal of the radicalism of Georg Brandes and Friedrich Nietzsche, among others, and is associated with a diverse catalogue of intellectuals, architects, artists, writers and politicians, who tended, in various and even contradictory ways, to resist the status quo and social and cultural conventions.
The cultural radicals settled the score with the established norms and encouraged new ideas and perspectives.
It was also a parting with a lot of ideologies, such as conservatism and conventionalism and resulted in a broadening of the political apparatus.
