Cyangugu

Image:Rwanda Cyangugu.png Cyangugu or Ciangugu was a province in south western Rwanda, lying at the southern end of Lake Kivu, east of Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is also the name of a town now found in the Western Province.

The settlement has two main areas: Cyangugu itself is the lakeside resort, while Kamembe lies further inland and is the industrial and transport centre. The town is also home to an airport and a prison and lies near Nyungwe Forest National Park.

The coordinates of the town of Cyangugu are 2.48S, 28.90E. Its population in 2002 was approximately 19,900.Template:Rwanda-geo-stub
