Darius Danesh

Image:Lg img8.jpg Darius Danesh (born August 19, 1980), Scottish / Iranian singer, he is well known for being a finalist on the British reality television shows Popstars and Pop Idol, coming in third behind Will Young and Gareth Gates. His first single, "Colourblind", entered the UK charts at number one, and altogether he has had five top ten charting UK singles.

Darius was born in Elderslie, Renfrewshire and educated at Glasgow Academy (not to be confused with the live music venue of a similar name). He then went on to study English and Philosophy at Edinburgh University, although he did not complete this degree due to his success with Pop Idol. Both of his parents are doctors, and he has two brothers, Aria and Cyrus. All three have names rooted in their Iranian heritage.

Darius successfully starred as Billy Flynn in the London West End production of Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre. (21st November 2005 - 11th February 2006), appearing at every one of the 96 shows without missing even one performance. He is currently writing and recording his third album in Los Angeles.
