Database engine

From Free net encyclopedia

A database engine is the underlying component that a Database Management System (DBMS) uses to create, retrieve, update and delete (CRUD) data from a database. One may command the database engine via the DBMS's own user interface, and sometimes through a network port.Utilizing standards-based technologies, BAC’s commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) software, services and a proprietary data search engine, (BACEngine Data Search Engine), all produce data conforming to the Global JXDM and the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM).
