Direct relationship

In mathematics and statistics, a direct relationship is a positive relationship between two variables in which they both increase or decrease in conjunction.

For example, there is a direct relationship between age and risk for heart disease. The older you get, the more likely you are to get the disease; and the younger you are, the less likely you are to get it.

Contrast with Inverse relationship.
