Do They Know It's Christmas? was a single recorded by Band Aid, a British and Irish charity supergroup in 1984 formed by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure. Their main objective by producing this single was to raise money for the famine relief in Ethiopia. It became an instant Christmas Hit. It reached the number one spot at the UK charts and stayed there for five weeks. It stayed on the charts for twenty weeks.
