Drop

A drop may be:
- a drop, unit of measure of volume
- a drop (or droplet) of liquid, such as raindrops causing a rainbow, or forming clouds or fog
- a drop or dropout in telecommunications, such as in losing a signal, or as in a wire dropped-down from a ceiling
- dropping out, drop out, quitting, not terminating a course, school or education
- a dropoff or drop-off, like a cliff or ledge, as in a "steep drop"; or a drop-off and pick-up point for passengers or freight
- to have the drop on someone is to be in a hidden position, prepared to ambush or otherwise sneak attack that person
- a falling or decrease, such as the temperature or the price of a commodity going down quickly
- a drop, or a length-to-weight relation for baseball bats. It is the length in inches minus the weight in ounces. For instance, if a bat weighs 31 ounces, and has a drop of minus 11, it will be 20 inches in length.
- a Dutch sweet liquorice called a drop
- a drop noseband is a type of noseband used on the bridle of a horse
- a section in electronic music where the music will crescendo to a climax, pause briefly (the drop), then resume. See: break (music)
- in casinos, the currency removed from casino games, most notably tables and slot machines, or the process of collecting such currency to be counted
- in breakdancing, a drop is a move to transition from toprock to downrock.
- in On-premises wiring, a drop is a network run from a concentration of communication devices to a wall box or other termination.
