1975 - The town grew in size greatly due to the oil industry & all the expansion associated with it. The main BP Oil Company headquarters were built there, for easy access to the airport. Unfortunately the main terminal of the airport grew larger on the eastern side instead of the west, a problem growing larger every day since then.the airport itself is also restricted for any extension to allow larger aircraft in (it is still called "Aberdeen International airport").The oil industry is supporting a multitude of service companies & helicopter airlines. The town itself is a suburb of aberdeen, rife with keen sports facilities, especially the local football team 'Dyce Juniors' who currently play Super League football. It has only 1 main shopping centre and a bookies, not to mention a Jimmy Chung's .
