Eiffel 65
From Free net encyclopedia
Template:Infobox band Eiffel 65 are an Italian electronic/eurodance group, formed in the late 90's and best known for their international hit "Blue (Da Ba Dee)". Their other hit singles include "Move Your Body" and "Too Much of Heaven". The name "Eiffel" was chosen randomly by a computer program and the "65" was scribbled onto their name on a demo by mistake; it was actually part of a phone number.
Their second album Contact! was released in 2001 and was only a moderate success on mainland Europe, despite various accolades, with the lead single "Lucky (In My Life)". The group continued to enjoy success in their native Italy with such songs as "Viaggia Insieme a Me", "Voglia di Dance All Night", and "Cosa Restera". In 2003, Eiffel 65 released a self-titled album, mainly in Italian.
Eiffel 65 also made 30 remixes of songs by other artists between 1999 and 2002. In early 2006 they produced a remix of Yo Yo Mundi's "L'Ultimo Testimone", and many fans hope this is an indication they are returning to the business. Their new album, under the working title Crash Test, is due for release in Spring 2006. Rumour has it the album will be sung in both English and Italian and signify a return to the electronic genre with new electric guitar sounds.
